World war-|| bunkers in Vizag
Bunkers of British time are dropping out of the sight
Bunkers are one of the historical monuments at the time of
1940’s which are used by the British soldiers as network for defence to shield
themselves from betrayers. Bunkers are artillery shells and built with concrete
containing 3 iron windows around the bunker which is the key areas to identify
the detractors from distinct places and also enough stronger to hit a harden
surface. The source tells that there are used to be around 12 bunkers but due
to the government negligence they all were consumed by beach and sand.
In ancient times these bunkers are called as “Pillboxes”. When
Hudhud cyclone lashed in the year 2014 one of the bunkers ashore at Pedda
jalari peta and the region people are calling it as a “bombula dibba” and are using
for their personal issues.
“These pillboxes remain as permanent monuments and silent
reminders of dark days of 1940’s.”
